In 2002, TOPTICA began its base in North America when it founded the subsidiary TOPTICA Photonics Inc. (TPI) originally located in Westfield, Massachusetts. In 2006 TPI relocated their north American headquarters to Rochester, NY where it remains today. Rochester was a choice due to the highly skilled workforce known in that area with a rich history in the optics community. Growing a workforce in Rochester would be driven by the competently skilled workforce.
Leading TOPTICA Photonics Inc. for the past decade has been its CEO Mark A. Tolbert. As TOPTICA continued their growth they expanded to add the San Jose Applications center to support their West Coast business in 2012. TOPTICA Photonics Inc. began with just 3 employees and has since grown to 19 employees between the two facilities, with plans to increase this number even further in 2017.
The team of TOPTICA Photonics Inc. offers sales, service and application support in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Additionally manufacturing has started in North America as the team grows their product development and R&D capabilities. Many of the team will attend BiOS and Photonics West in San Francisco from January 28th to February 2nd. Meet them at booth #923 (South Hall) to learn about TOPTICA's latest innovations!
